Average salary for graphic designer is less than £25k

The average salary for a graphic designer is £24 514, according to new figures from the Office for National Statistics.

This is slightly lower than the average national salary for 2009, which is £25 816, according to the ONS’ Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings.

The average salary for a product, clothing or related designer is £28 672, while the average salary for a design associate professional is £25 077.

The survey also shows that salaries for graphic designers have risen by 2.56 per cent over the past year, while salaries for product designers and design associates have fallen by 4.33 and 1.13 per cent respectively.

A Design Week survey in March this year showed that the average salary for a middleweight artworker in London was £24 498, while the average salary for a creative director in the capital was £62 249.

I DON'T CARE! i love drawing and cant see myself settling for anything less. I would be a creative for 12 grand a year and be happy. but it is true you have to pay the bills and happy doesnt do that........................i opt for happy still!!

I'v been decorating.....

New Drawings. The little Girl at the top is a drawing from a trip so too is the guy sitting down rubbing his chin and the old lady is insired from my job, and the last one is in reflection of trying to get a full time job. All these are sketchbook work that i hope to develop into something more commercial maybe. Oh and a fellow illustrator and myself may be exhibiting soon so keep your eyes on this space for further details.

This is a new drawing maybe for a series of cards i am going to produce ( happy birthday, happy easter, all the holidays plus all the other things you give cards for) then im goinh to try sell them to a card company fingers crossed!!

so this is to acompany the other crown paint ad. Simple. Its moking the dulux dog ( because the dulux dog is black and white, which i have never understood). I tried a number of different ways to get the message across and this seemed the best visualy( i tried to paint the dog a colour but its really hard to do and it look really good so this was what i came up with).

Work in context...
